Scotland's Oil Fund
True oil wealth hidden to stop independence
It is quite disgraceful how the biased Unionist media have ignored the bombshell that is the disclosure of Gavin McCrone's paper on Scotland's oil.
Scotland has won the natural lottery in terms of our vast oil resources - but successive UK governments have squandered Scotland's oil wealth.
Since Labour came to power in 1997, our oil and gas revenues have topped more than £32 billion. This is money that should have been invested for the benefit of Scotland, but was instead swallowed up by the London Treasury and frittered away.
The SNP has outlined proposals to utilise Scotland's oil wealth for the benefit of the Scottish people by establishing a North Sea Oil Fund.
This fund would be similar to the scheme operated by Norway, which has since 1995 invested a share of its oil revenues in a fund for the benefit of future generations.
